Mechanical Model of the Finger

ثبت نشده
چکیده

INTRODUCTION The human finger consists of bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and pulleys. The finger pulleys are generally omitted in classical mathematical models despite the injury frequency of the pulleys is high. This fact can be seen especially in sport climbing where the treatment is complicated. It is the aim of this project to build a mechanical model of the finger including all mechanical elements to simulate the actual finger. The main question is, which pulley (or part thereof) is subjected to the highest load and stress, depending on the finger position. Different typical finger positions will be simulated, according to the grip types of sport climbing. This study will help to prevent pulley injuries, as well as to diagnose, which pulley (or part thereof) is ruptured.

Dynamic modeling and control of a 4 DOF robotic finger using adaptive-robust and adaptive-neural controllers

In this research, first, kinematic and dynamic equations of a 4-DOF 3-link robotic finger are derived using Denavit-Hartenberg convention and Lagrange’s formulation. To model the muscles, several springs and dampers are placed between the finger links. Then, two advanced controllers, namely adaptive-robust and adaptive-neural, which can control the robotic finger in presence of parametric uncer...

Optimization of fuzzy controller for an SMA-actuated artificial finger robot

The purpose of this paper is to design and optimize an intelligent fuzzy-logic controller for a three-degree of freedom (3DOF) artificial finger with shape-memory alloy (SMA) wire actuators. The robotic finger is constructed using three SMA wires as tendons to bend each phalanx of the finger around its revolute joint and three torsion springs which return the phalanxes to their original positio...

Grasp analysis of a four-fingered robotic hand based on Matlab simmechanics

The structure of the human hand is a complex design comprising of various bones, joints, tendons, and muscles functioning together in order to produce the desired motion. It becomes a challenging task to develop a robotic hand replicating the capabilities of the human hand. In this paper, the analysis of the four-fingered robotic hand is carried out where the tendon wires and a spring return me...

Fingertip Radius Effect of an on-Surface-Manipulated Object

Cooperative arms are two or more arms in series which assume the structure of a parallel robot on account of gripping an intermediary object, and are commonly used in accurate assembly industries, coaxialization, movement of object, etc. Gripping an intermediary object is one of the complicated subjects in analysis of cooperative arms, whose analysis is mostly dependent upon the manner the obje...

Mathematical model creation for Reducing damages in basketball players

Introduction: Hand and wrist stability are critical for optimal upper extremity function. Instability occurs when injury or a pathological condition alters balance, typically in the basketball players and handball players. Injury also can occur whenever the ligaments are subjected to tensile forces that exceed their physiological capacities. For example, thumb is stable in ext...

Process optimization for ethanol production from very high gravity (VHG) finger millet medium using response surface methodology

The Box-Wilson central composite design (CCD) based on response surface methodology (RSM) was used for ethanol fermentation using very high gravity (VHG) finger millet hydrolysate. Optimized process variables were namely, concentrations of yeast extract, magnesium sulphate and pH of the medium. High gravity mashes (>300 g dissolved solids per liter) were prepared by a thermo-stable α-amylase, f...
